Robert Burr is well known in the world of rum. An avid collector of rums of the world, Robert and his wife Robin and son Robert publish Rob's Rum Guide, both in print and online, as a reference to hundreds of fine rums from the Caribbean and beyond.

Together they host the annual Miami Rum Renaissance Festival, the largest gathering of rum experts in the world. They also host the Rum Renaissance Caribbean Cruise, an adventure for rum enthusiasts to visit distilleries and rum shops on many islands.

As a judge in many international rum competitions, Robert also organized a group of rum judges from around the globe as the RumXPs (International Rum Expert Panel). Their RumXP tasting competition has become an important event in the rum world, featuring the largest group of renowned rum judges from around the globe.

Robert travels to attend and participate in many rum festivals, where he often serves as a judge in rum tasting and cocktail competitions. Along with fellow RumXPs, he also makes frequent visits to rum distilleries to increase his knowledge of the processes of rum distillation, maturing and blending.

Robert writes a column known as the National Rum Examiner, offering insight and information about many rum products, brands and related topics to many readers. He serves as a consultant to numerous rum bars, restaurants, venues and brands in the United States and beyond.

He often describes himself as the younger, smarter and better-looking version of his father.

Rum enthusiast and Rum Scout for the younger generation, Rob appreciates the finer points of quality rum and cachaça products.
Rob is always experimenting with cocktail recipes, often inventing his own unique concoctions. He travels the world discovering variations on old classic cocktails and seeking out the latest new trends in mixology.

Together with his father, they write the National Rum Examiner site and Rob's Rum Guide.

The "Rum Scout" also helps oversee the RumXP Blind Tasting Competition which takes place at Rum Renaissance Festival.
